1. What's something you miss about the 1980's? If you're too young to miss the 80's how about the 90's?
The music--I miss the songs of AC/DC, U2, Guns N'Roses, Van Halen...list can go on and on...

2. Do you have a library card? If so, how often do you visit?
Yes-I love my Reader but I miss going to the library.  Usually I visit the library twice a month.  In the summer, I go weekly-taking my grandson to the children's program!  I don't want the library to become obsolete!  More people are reading now-using the new technology out there but the library is still a place to go and check out a good book.
3. What's the secret to success?
One of my favorite poems:
"To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.  This is to have succeeded!" ---Emerson
This to me is the secret to success.

4. This is National Backyard Games week...what's your favorite backyard game?
Playing volleyball with a beach ball!!  #1 Daughter and I play against #2 daughter.
5. If I dropped by today what would I find on your coffee table?
Uh Oh---I don't have a coffee table-this was removed when I had the girls.  Hub is a worry wart over bumps, scratches, etc.  So the coffee table went and the girls stayed.  Hadn't thought of having a coffee table since, until now.
6. Do you own a bicycle? When was the last time you rode a bicycle? Is that something you enjoy?
No longer own a bicycle.  Riding a bicycle use to be one of my favorite times to think, but lately haven't had the time/energy.  Last summer was the last time I rode.
7. What's your favorite cheese?
Not a cheesy person.  My favorite cheese is Fontina Cheese.
8. Insert your own random thought here

#2 daughter graduated from UVA-Wise on Saturday.  So proud of her accomplishments.

  1. No coffee table? Where do you put your feet? : ) Kidding!

Congrats again to your daughter-what are her plans?

    1. Daughter plans on going on to physical therapy school-getting her doctor degree-interested in working with children-has applied to ETSU and Emory-I guess you know which one I hope she chooses. I jokingly say-I will have on daughter to give me drugs and the other one to get my body moving.

  2. That's so funny...we had a glass coffee table when we started having kids...until my son, in his haste to see the garbage truck, fell and cut his head open on it. My husband removed it...and I talked him into a sturdy steamer trunk only recently. He's all about form over function so the storage appealed to him! HA! The kids are also old enough to not hit their heads on the furniture most of the time these days too!

  3. I'm with Joyce...I have to have a coffee table when I prop my feet up to watch TV at night. I'd be so lost without one! Big congrats to your daughter for earning her degree and all the best for a bright future!

  4. Congrats to your daughter.

I dream about getting a coffee table ... then I realize that it'll just be another "dumping ground" for stuff and another surface to have to dust. So I pass. ;-)

  5. Congrats on your daughter's graduation. I took out our coffee table when the babies came too. The 80s had some great music.

  6. Like Joyce I'm surprised you don't have a coffee table. Enjoyed reading your answers. Enjoy the rest of your week.

  7. Wow Congratulations to your daughter! Our daughter graduates in a couple weeks. 2 down, one to go!

  8. Oh, my memory of Van Halen's "Jump" is listening to it over and over again on a camping trip on Catalina Island off the coast of California when I was a youngster... my poor parents... I am proud to say, though, that my own children have a vast knowledge of all things 80s and can readily sing along to Journey, Poison, Guns-n-Roses, Bon Jovi, and the rest... as well as their own pop-culture stuff that is just NOT as good as what we grew up with! :-)

  9. Oh yes....Guns n Roses...Loved 'em Sweet Child of Mine...the November rain triolgy....Welcome to the Jungle...and much much more.
