Yucky feeling....

Yuck!!  This is how I have been feeling for the past couple of days.

It all started on Saturday.  When I woke up, I thought my throat was on fire.

Lucky I have a pharmacist in the family.  Thank you daughter for calling and getting me an antibiotic.  Throat is soooo much better.

However now I have a terrible cold.

This is exactly how I feel.

I tried going to Zumba last night thinking exercising would make me feel better.  What was I thinking????  I left way before class was over, came home took a hot shower, and last thing I remembered was hub waking me up to go to bed.

Thankful our school system was closed today due to more snow.

I laid around till around 11 and then decided to try and get moving.  I began feeling better as the day went on and on...and
I had a visitor...
little man wanted to show me his glasses.  He had just gotten them and he had to show his Mamow!  Feeling better already!! He stayed for a few hours and we played
Scoby Doo-it is a concentration game.  I have as much fun playing this game as he does.

Since it is getting night-my yucky feeling is returning.  Wonder why one seems to feel yucky as it begins to get dark??  Time for a hot shower and relax and watch some television.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1.  Thursday marks the first day of spring...to celebrate would you rather plant a garden or go for a walk in the woods? Would either of those activities be possible on Thursday where you live?

Go for a walk in the woods.  Thursday's weather is supposed to be nice-key word is supposed.

2. When did someone last spring something on you? (or when did you last spring something on someone?)
It would have to be when daughter's boyfriend asked my approval to propose to daughter. I knew they really loved each other, but did not see this coming.

3.  We often think of spring as a time for new beginnings. What's something you'd like to start doing this spring?

Reading my Bible more and really studying the scriptures.

4. Where do you like to sit in a movie theatre? When did you last sit there, and what were you watching?

In the middle section.  Oldest daughter and I went to see the movie, The Help.  It has been awhile, hasn't it?

5. When you meet someone for the very first time, what do you want them to think about you?

That I am friendly

6. March is frozen food month (yes, really!). Besides ice cream (gotta make you think a little) what's your most often purchased frozen food item?

Rolls-I think the ones I buy are Sister Shurbert-they are delicious.

7. What's something you avoid?

People who make my skin crawl.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Charlie had a good report yesterday!!  I have missed the Hodgepodge but with the ending of school, my paperwork is getting more and more.  Did I say ending of school-my county has missed 17 days of school this year!!

Weekend Rewind

Weekend Rewind....

A blur.....

Friday evening, hub and I planned on opening up The Coffee Shop for our community to watch our high school girls play in the championship game in Richmond, Virginia.  We had our computer hooked up to the television so all that wanted to watch could.  Daughter had texted later that evening saying her plane had landed in Charlotte and she would be home on Saturday.

Saturday, we had around 40 people come and watch the basketball game.  It was a beautiful day but the game started at 12 so we all knew we would not be indoors all day.  There was much clapping and cheering for our girls high school team!  For the first time in our school's history our Chilhowie High School Girl's Basketball Team are now State Champions.

The weather was gorgeous-already mentioned, huh?
I even saw some greenery popping through.

Daughter became engaged on her trip last week.  Hub and I knew this was going to happen because the young man had asked for our approval before hand.  We were able to Face time and see them afterwards.

Excited for both of them and I can honestly say I really like the young man she has fallen in love with.
As the evening was coming to a close, little man was looking worse and worse.

I called #2 daughter down to take a look at him.  She said he needed a steroid so she called his doctor and talked to the nurse practioner.  The nurse practioner did not agree with my daughter, who by the way is a pharmascist.  He got worse and worse and began itching and looking terrible.  Hub and I called little man's dad and told him to meet us at the hospital because we were taking little man back.  I felt so sorry for him because he felt so bad.  The doctor in the emergency room gave him a steriod shot and sent us home at 1:30am. Before leaving, hub laid down with him.  Seems like it takes forever to be check-in and check-out of a hospital.
Little man wanted to come back home with us-which was perfectly fine with me.  Poor thing was up all night-itching and scratching.  The only way he seemed to get comfortable was for me to rock him-which I did for the rest of the night and part of the day.  Around 4 that evening he began to feel somewhat better.  It broke my heart to see him feeling so terrible.

Daughter #2 and finance left to head back to school and it seemed like I didn't get to see her at all-now that I think about it. As a matter of fact, this entire weekend seems like one big, gigantic blur.... Hub said it was just because we had a lot going on-which we did.

Hub goes for a colonscopy on Tuesday, March 18 so I am asking for prayers that all will be okay.  I do get nervous-and it is okay I tell myself and that I won't have to hear that awful C word again-but I still get nervous.  Hub gets nervous too, but tries not to let me know but I do know.

The weather has turned dreary-rain and cooler temps. but this is still March, right?

Wishing all a great week.

Weekend Rewind

Thirty days has September, April, June, and November
All the rest have thirty-one
This year, February was the longest one!!!

Honestly, thought February would never end.  Snow, blistery cold, days missed from school, slipping and sliding everywhere....went on and on and on.  It was so hard to try and revive...days were gloomy and I just couldn't get back on track.  One day while complaining about the weather, a friend told me to stop complaining and just admire God's work.  Never thought about that-I mean I thank God for all things but never for the cold weather or snow. I must say this person shed a new light me.

Hub and I traveled to watch the girls's high school team play in the regional basketball championship game on Saturday evening.  I was so excited to watch our girls play; I had really missed going to high school games.  I was able see people I haven't seen in years-one in particular was daughter's AAU coach and his wife.  Gosh it has been at least 6 years since last seeing them.  Felt like ole times being in the gym and hub had to pat my leg and tell me to 'calm down'. Definitely back to my ole ways of yelling!!  Our girls lost the game, but they are still able to play one more game to see if they qualify for State!  So proud of the team and I know how all parents are feeling because years ago I was in their shoes!

Came home and was greeted with the news that daughter had went and got a tatoo-on her foot!  I kinda knew she was going to but didn't actually think she would go through with it.  She did! the tatoo is small and her pharmacy symbol.  She asked if I like it, and I replied what would you do if I said "No?"  I think she knew my answer.  Honestly, I do think it is cute.

These first few days of March have been nice-spring/like.  Our weather is suppose to change tonight-rain, to sleet and then snow.  I am thinking of the saying-March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb.  Saying to myself-weather will be spring soon!

Have a great week!
