Wednesday Hodgepodge

1.  It's  a brand new month...share one thing you're looking forward to in October.

The beautiful scenery.  I am fortunate to live in an area to see the amazing fall colors..  Hub and I usually drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway in awe. "October is the month God gets out his crayons and colors the world beautiful."

2. Is chivalry dead? Explain.
How many young people know this meaning?  Somedays I think it is dead because I don't see much courtesy or honesty in people.  Do we chose to do what is right because it is the right thing to do?  I certainly hope chivalry isn't dead, but I am afraid if not dead than it is getting close to being dead.

3. On October 2, 1950 the Peanuts comic strip made its debut. Which character is your favorite? Which character is most like you? (Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Shroeder, Snoopy, Woodstock, or Pig Pen) If you need a description click here .
Marcie--loyal friend

4. What's something you're competitive about?
Sports

5. October is National Popcorn Popping Month...are you a fan? How do you like your popcorn?
Use to joke with hub when Emily played high school and college sports saying we were on a popcorn diet.  Now she is coaching and I am on a popcorn diet, again!!  I better like popcorn.

6. When did you first realize the world is small?
When encountering people you never knew but realized how much you had in common and the places you had shared.

7. In terms of architecture, what's the most beautiful building you've seen up close and in person?
None-hub not a traveler.  However, I wish to see the Taj Mahal and the Louvre.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Glad today is 'hump' day---Yeah!!

  1. I love that little saying about God and his crayons...so true! I'm hiking with some friends today and hoping the rain holds off. There are waterfalls which should be moving given all the wet weather lately and the trees are beginning to turn so should be nice.

    Enjoy your day!

  2. Every fall I am so thankful that God decided the leaves would turn beautiful colors before winter - he could have just made it so the turned brown and fell to the ground! We are so blessed by beautiful colors in my area - I am doing a Fall Photo link party next Thursday and would love if you shared some of your fall color pictures at it! :)

  3. I have to agree with you on chivalry. :-(

My hubby and I are bound and determined to drive along the Blue Ride Parkway - soon. We'd like to go in the fall, when the leaves have turned but are afraid that it might be a little too congested.

  4. I really love the saying you wrote on your #1! It is always so nice to find friends that you have things in common with or places shared. Being in the Army, we move around a lot and these are definitely the moments that help our world feel a little bit smaller and more like home! Have a great day!

  6. I picked Charlie Brown for my answer but like Marcie I like to think I am a loyal friend.

  7. I'm in NC and we're lucky to have great colors too. We need to make that trip up to the Blue Ridge Parkway as well. I haven't heard the forecast for peak weekend though. Usually I think ours is around the 2nd-3rd week of October depending on temperatures and rain.

  8. A drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway would be lovely. I wish we lived a little closer, because I hate to travel.

  10. Enjoy your scenery. I don't miss the snow from living in Illinois for 38 years but I do miss the leaves.

  11. Tho now it's Friday, I LOVE the smiley face. Made me feel good about the day ahead thanks to you.

We are no longer travelers either, tho we did when we were much younger. Now, the drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway would be a trip even if it's just a day trip. I can only imagine the glorious colors that abound.
