Wednesday Hodgepodge

From this Side of the Pond

1.  Do you think the pandemic has had any kind of positive impact on your mental health? Explain.

Yes, I have tried to focus more on my devotions.  In the past, I just read my devotions, but now I really focus on what the devotions are saying.
Also, this pandemic has caused me to start a gratitude journal.  Each morning I write what I am thankful for.

2. A hot mess, hot under the collar, in hot water, hot button, hot diggity dog!, hot shot, hot seat....choose one and tell us how it applies to your life currently.

MICRO: The Hot Button
Hot Mess Nope...I am organized, Hot Under the Collar Nope...not angry, In Hot Water Nope not right now at least (ha), Hot diggity dog nothing exciting happening at the moment, Definitely not a Hot Shot and I am not in the Hot Seat...So I will go with Hot Button.
With the starting of school and so many decisions, I get angry with the comments people post on Facebook.  I respond back...BUT then I delete my rude response.  The starting of schools is a tough decision (one that I would not want to make) and I know child care is an issue, and whether or not to send your child who especially has had health issues in the past is an issue, BUT let's just all be a little nicer and keep your rude comments to yourself.  And pray for the leaders who have to make these tough decisions.

3. Speaking of the hot seat, do you work well under pressure or do you actively avoid high pressure situations?

I can work well under pressure, but I don't like to.  Sometimes I am more creative under pressure.

4. Hotdogs-yay or nay? If you said yay how do you like yours? Did you know July is National hotdog month?

Carolina Style Hot Dogs - Sugar Dish Me

Yay, to a hot dog with chili, mustard, and slaw.

5. I read here a list of America's coolest Southern towns. They are Marfa Texas, Greenville South Carolina, Abindgon Virginia, Athens Georgia, Bentonville Arkansas, Florence Alabama, Oxford Mississippi, Abita Springs Louisiana, Wilmington North Carolina, Monroeville Alabama, McMinnville Tennessee, Natchez Mississippi.  How many on the list have you seen in person? Which town on the list would you most like to see?

I have been to 4 of these places.  I would like to visit Marfa, Texas because I have always wanted to travel to Texas.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

Today is extremely hot outside and inside #airconbrokedown

Stay cool everybody.

So until next time...Keep on Keepin On and Enjoy Life

  1. I agree, those making these decisions about the reopening of schools are in a tough spot. No matter what they do there are going to be unhappy people. I have never had slaw on a hot dog but it sounds good. Have a great week :)

  2. I know I wouldn’t want to be in charge right now. People seem to be rude about so many things these days. Sigh. I hope you get to Texas one day!

  3. Come visit Wisconsin. It's only 57° here this morning, so definitely not hot. I avoided Facebook until this year because of the incessant rudeness and bickering that I had heard about. I have now been following our church and 2 theologians. And I'm sticking to just those 3.

  4. I feel 100% the same about all the judgey meanness on facebook. Everyone is trying to make the best decision they can for their family with school.

  5. I liked your response to the "hot button." I have gotten off Facebook pretty much because I wanted to comment when I shouldn't. It was just better for me to not be tempted. LOL! Yes, it was a hot, humid, muggy 79 degrees when I walked this morning at 5:30.

  6. School is definitely a hot issue...my boyfriend is a substitute teacher (when he retired from full time teaching he decided he still needed a job) and is not sure he will be working in the fall, because there is no need for subs if school is all on line.
