Wednesday Medley

1.  Haiku poetry is actually pretty easy to write.  Give it a try right here...
Image result for pollen and sneezing

Pollen is nasty
My allergies have started
But I love new growth

2.  Haiku poetry aside, have you ever written a poem?  Will you share it with us?
I use to write poetry when I taught English.

3.  Do you have a favorite poet or does poetry usually make you yawn?
I have a few favorite poets...Emily Dickinson, William Wordsworth, Maya Angelou.

4.  April 17  is National Ellis Island Family History Day, too,  Did any of your ancestors or relatives immigrate through Ellis Island from another country?

I have no idea...I imagine so though.

5.  We also celebrate National Cheeseball Day on April 17th.  Do you have a favorite cheeseball recipe to share with us or have cheeseballs basically disappeared from parties today?

I usually buy my cheeseball...I am not known as a very good cook.  Thinking about your question...the last little get together I attended, I did not see a cheeseball.
6.  If you want to share, please tell us something about your week.
My heart is so sad with the fire at Notre Dame Catherdal....I kept watching the news for ours.
One of my pet peeves is lying...just tell the truth...
“Still I Rise”
“You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.”

Wishing all a Happy Easter....Enjoy Life

  1. Loved reading your answers. Have a great Wednesday!

  2. Thank you for joining the Medley today and sharing your poetry! I think the subject turned off a few of my usual followers so your is much appreciated!! I still enjoy a good cheese ball! The fire in Paris was so devastating in so many ways. Five years to rebuild, "they" say. I kind of agree with your "between the lines" that there is something we aren't being told. Sigh.

  3. Your haiku was fantastic! Perfect for the allergy season!
I am right there with you on lying! It drives me crazy! I like the Still I Rise! Thanks for sharing!
I am so sad about the Notre Dame Cathedral also. I read the news on my phone while I was at work. Devastating! Loved your answers! Have a great weekend!
