Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. July is National Anti-Boredom Month. When was the last time you were bored? What's your go-to cure for boredom?

I tend to get bored easily.  Many people say I just need to slow down a little and enjoy doing nothing-hard for me to do.  When bored, I usually find something to do-read, clean, go for a walk/run, get on the computer and browse, sometimes I even bake!

2. What's the last thing you made a reservation for?

I have not made reservations in a long time.  Hub made reservations for a little get-a-way for us last month.

3. What's one thing on your summer 'bucket list'? Any plans to make it happen?

Travel to Charleston, South Carolina-something about this historic, seaside city I want to see.  Don't think this will happen this summer.

4. What's your favorite summertime sip?

Here lately, I have been enjoying

5. What .do you find is the best way to handle another person's hostility and hopefully ease the tension?

Not my area of expertise.  Hub is really good at this and by the end of the conversation or whatever, the person who was really hostile is either hugging or shaking hands with hub and thanking him.  Me I handle it by leaving the situation or just walk away without saying anything.

6. Your favorite film set in summer?

Thinking of two (hopefully both were set in summer)
Grease

and Dirty Dancing

7. What word are you using too much lately?

Honestly, can't think of one.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Just finished my book report for in service next week.  I can't believe I had to read a book, answer questions, travel, and then attend a three-day inservice.
But I feel.....

  1. Charleston in the summer: UGH! Go in October...the weather is much nicer! We're thinking about going down during Fall Break & doing some camping.
I've seen the Shock Top Shandy, but haven't tried it. I may have to indulge! :)

  2. Shandys are popular in the UK...they make them in the pubs with beer and 'lemonade' which is actually sprite there. We loved Charleston in May...the temperature was atypically cool and made for wonderful walking weather.

  3. I live in Charleston, well, just over the bridge in Mount Pleasant, and let me just say, if you head this way, be ready for oppressive heat and humidity. One of the reasons I moved here thirty years ago was the appeal of the history. I'm such a lover of history and this place has stories in every corner. I always get bored during meetings at school. My solution is to doodle. At home, I cook. But I'm trying that slow down thing you mentioned. It's hard because I feel like I am wasting time.

  4. Your husband has wonderful skills with the hostile! I am much more inclined to be like you!
Ahhh, Dirty Dancing was a good one.

  5. Did your husband learn how to deal with hostility, or is he a natural? Wish I had that trait. I'd like to go to Charleston too, when it's a bit cooler.

  6. Summer may not be the best time to visit Charleston, but definitely do plan a trip there. It is one of the most beautiful and interesting vacation spots. There is so much to do in the area and the islands are very pretty. Also, plan to stop in Savannah when you go. Now, if you need a travel guide, let me know.
