Wednesday Hodgepodge

From this Side of the Pond

1. May 20th is World Bee Day...what's something that's kept you 'busy as a bee' lately?

T-Ball and Baseball.  The twins play T-Ball and play on Thursdays and Saturdays.  Blake plays Coach Pitch baseball and plays on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.  I love watching them play, but shew I am only home a couple days a week.  I know I don't have to go to every game, but I do!  The season is coming to an end this week.  I am kinda glad, but I wouldn't change one thing about this season of baseball life.

Late hub played baseball and even coached our high school team.  Watching the boys play, brought memories back.  I so wish hub was here to watch his grands play, but I know he has the best view from Heaven.

2. Do you like honey? What's something you make or enjoy that calls for honey?

I like honey if it is local honey.  I do not make anything with honey, but I do put honey in my coffee.

3. "Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body." Proverbs 16:24

What's a proverb you love, or one that speaks to you or has helped you in some way?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; don't rely on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

Trust God even when you don't understand what/why something is happening.  To completely put my trust in God and not myself.  God will lead me in the right direction when I seek his guidance and presence.

The Bible is full of Proverbs, a whole book in fact, if that helps with your answer. The word proverb is defined as 'a short pithy saying in general use, stating a general truth or piece of advice'

4. Tell us about a 'sweet' moment in your life recently that filled you with joy, gratitude, or peace.

Last week I had a dermatologist appointment and had to have a mole removed from my forehead.  Right after the appointment, was Blake's baseball game. ( I went from school, to dermatologist appointment, to baseball)  The twins saw the bandage on my forehead and  started asking questions (million of them) and I had to explain a hundred times what happened but I told them I was okay.  I was watching Blake, it was his turn to hit the ball and out of the blue Liam (a twin) said, "Mamaw I just now prayed for your boo boo on your head."  Now, I lost it!!  Here I was yelling for Blake to hit the ball and Liam was thinking about my boo boo and praying,. I was filled with joy and gratitude.

5. When you were a child, what did you want to 'be' when you grew up? How close did you come to that?

I wanted to be a pediatric doctor.  At university, I did major in pre-med and took all those hard classes (to me they were) from microbiology to organic and inorganic chemistry, etc.  Then I fell deeply in love and changed majors to elementary and special education teacher.

I didn't come close to being a doctor, but I am still interacting with children.,.Middle Schoolers.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Even with all the baseball playing, I still had some time to begin my garden.

Lettuce and potatoes looking good!!!!!

Have a great rest of the week and Enjoy Life!!!

  2. The prayer is so sweet. Our two grandsons living nearby have a similar baseball schedule. Different nights, although sometimes the same night, often two different venues, times, whew. It's a lot. We don't go to all the games but have been to several. Sometimes we have little miss and whichever boy isn't playing at our house while the other one goes to baseball. Your garden is looking good!

1. What does adventure mean to you?  Adventure is something that is exciting!  I have always wanted to go skydiving, not happened yet.  But ...
